IT’S HERE!!! IT’S FINALLY HERE! (Or rather, it will be tonight!)
I am aggressively avoiding all spoilers from now until Sunday afternoon, which is when we plan on seeing Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I won’t read a single article, I won’t even search for it on Twitter to see what people are saying. I promise. I will go into this movie completely ignorant. Which is a little scary, since I’ll have no idea who lives or dies or who gets hurt or captured.
But I am fully prepared to adopt BB8, my adorable little droid baby…
And also Finn, my fine-looking Stormtrooper-turned-hero who, I am sure, shoots better than his counterparts…
And also Rey, my beautiful little cupcake princess. Still convinced she’s Luke Skywalker’s daughter until it’s proven otherwise.
I am seriously concerned about where Luke is, though…
[NO PICTURE AVAILABLE BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE TO BE HAD AND THAT’S TERRIFYING]
But WOW Han Solo looks like my Pawpaw!
And I’m very excited to see what General Leia has been up to. (“General?!” Not “Princess” anymore? Oh well, okay.)
If J.J. Abrams kills anybody off then I’m going to label him “The Official Murderer Of Canon Characters.” I don’t really trust him, not after what I hear he did to Amanda Grayson and, like, all of Vulcan. I do trust him to give me a crazy-awesome story, though. Mission Impossible 3 taught me that.
And while we’re on the topic of J.J. Abrams, Amanda Grayson, and all of Vulcan…
SIGN ME UP FOR THIS.
Because Simon Pegg and new director Justin Lin are apparently all about making THIS movie as Old-School-Star-Trek as they can, and while they didn’t feel like this new trailer reflected that, I definitely see hints of it. Exploring strange new worlds, the Enterprise under fire, “This is where the Frontier pushes back”–umm, YES, that is perfect, TOS vibes right there.
And of course the Eyebrow of Power and Awesomeness is still going strong!
And I guess goggles are a universal constant with James Tiberius Kirk? I am 1701% okay with this.
Best part of the whole trailer. Deforest Kelley would be so proud of that grumpy Southern sass.
I just love all the little Star Things. And I am looking so forward to seeing both at the theater. That’s right, the Star Trek Beyond trailer is supposed to play before The Force Awakens.
Which means we’ll see the Enterprise AND the Millennium Falcon on the same day.
See you on the other side, peeps 😉
The one bummer about having a newborn baby right now, is not getting to see the new Star Wars movie right away! I’m quite sad about that. 😦

I had absolutely no idea when I was going get a chance to see Star Wars, but my dad came home this afternoon with tickets for tomorrow morning!!!
I may be a tad overexcited for this (and I’ve avoided the Star Trek trailer because I want to wait to see it in the theater, which may seem a little odd but oh well 😉 )

YAY!!!!! That is so awesome! What a great gift from your daddy 😀
I’m probably way too excited too, haha–but hey, it’s STAR WARS, the whole world is excited, and the whole world probably needs a good solid dose of Good Triumphing Over Evil anyway. And I totally understand about the Star Trek trailer because my sister was the same way for all of about five hours: “Nope, I’m gonna wait till I see it in theaters.” I…well, I’m not so virtuous. I watched the leaked German version before Paramount went ahead and released the real thing. Ahem. I know, I’m so terrible. Anyway, my sister changed her mind once the real one came out and we’ve watched it way too many times 😛
